We come out during business hours (Mon–Fri 8am–5pm, or Saturday mornings 9am–12pm if that's easier around work) and walk the kitchen with you. In the mid-century houses in Roosevelt Estates and Northwood, it's usually galvanized supply lines and a soffit hiding ductwork. We tell you what we find on the spot rather than after demolition.
Design, Materials and a Written Quote
We lay out the plan — cabinet configuration, appliance clearances, where the island can realistically land given plumbing and load-bearing walls — and price it in writing, line by line. This is where we talk humidity honestly: in a climate with long, muggy summers, plywood cabinet boxes and quality finishes hold up better than particleboard, and we'll steer you toward door styles and hardware that don't blister or corrode near the Intracoastal. You'll know what's included, what's an allowance, and what's excluded before anything is ordered.
Permits and Ordering
Anything touching plumbing, electrical or a wall gets permitted through the city or Palm Beach County, depending on where you sit. We handle that paperwork and the inspection scheduling. Cabinets and stone are ordered at the same time, because lead times — not labor — usually set the calendar. If you're remodeling in the fall, we plan the demolition and rough-in window with hurricane season in mind so the house is never sitting wide open when a storm is being tracked.
Demolition, Rough-In and Inspections
We protect floors and set up dust containment, then demo. Rough plumbing, electrical and any framing corrections happen next, followed by inspection, drywall and paint. In homes near Downtown West Palm Beach and Northwood we work around street parking and neighbors, keeping the dumpster or trailer tight and cleaning the curb daily. You get a photo or a text at the end of each work day so you know exactly where things stand.
Install, Punch List and Walkthrough
Cabinets go in and get leveled and scribed to walls that are rarely square in a house this old. Countertops are templated after cabinets are set, then fabricated and installed, followed by backsplash, plumbing and appliance hookup, trim and hardware. We walk the kitchen with you, write down every last item — a drawer that needs adjusting, a caulk line, a touch-up — and finish those before we call it done. Final inspection closes the permit.
